For all of these quince health benefits, quince owes much to the following ingredients: vitamins B1, B2 and C, carotene, potassium, calcium, easily digestible carbohydrates, vegetable fats, vegetable fibers and vegetable protein.
Recipe for homemade quince juice requires the following ingredients:
2 kg of fresh fruit – quince
5 l of water
1 kg of sugar
1 lemon, freshly squeezed
Notes: Two kilograms of quince should be cut in half and pitted (no peeling). Put chopped fruit in a five liter pot and cook until it boils. After the boil you should cook for about 20 more minutes. When the job is done the mixture should be left to cool. Cooling process takes four to five hours.
After cooling you should drain quince, and add 1 kg of sugar and lemon juice to the liquid. Liquid should be cooked for another 20 minutes to get the sugar all melted. Then pour a hot juice into sterile bottles and store it in a cool, dark place.
Improve the taste by drinking juice with honey.
