Kiwifruit strengthens the immune system, regulates blood pressure and digestion and helps in the treatment of respiratory diseases, headache and stress. Kiwi is a very tasty and healthy fruit and as such is an invaluable source of vitamins, especially C, A, E, K, B complex (thiamin, niacin, B6 and choline) and minerals – potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and iron.

As one of the most beneficial fruits, kiwi is used fresh as well as for a preparation of cakes, jams and healing potions. Thanks to the high value ingredients, it is effective in the fight against respiratory infections and colds, strengthens immune system, regulates blood pressure, reduces the risk of heart diseases, stroke and cancer, helps prevent headache and stress, lowers cholesterol, neutralizes free radicals and helps in the elimination of toxins from the body. Regular kiwi consumption has a beneficial impact on wound healing, maintaining healthy bones, teeth and gums, absorption of iron and the digestive system because it maintains the balance between good and bad bacteria in the intestines. Due to its rich content of vitamin C and fruit acids, kiwi is a common ingredient of face and body care products. It protects skin from drying making it velvety and gentle. It also regulates secretion of fat, narrows enlarged pores and slows aging.

Note: Although a fresh kiwi is very useful for the human health, especially during the winter, a great amount of the fruit can cause some allergies. It is recommended to eat two or three kiwis a day, not more than that.

Peel and slice one kiwi, orange, carrot, apple, banana, lemon (or lime), add one or two tablespoons of honey and blend the fruits altogether. You can add water if you prefer. This drink is a valuable source of vitamins which is good against colds. It is recommended to drink it in the morning.

Fight against cellulite

Finely chop a kilogram of kiwi and strain it through a strainer or cheesecloth. Pour a squashed kiwi into a hot bath and twenty minutes later have a shower with lukewarm or cold water.

Skin cleansing

Grind one banana and one kiwi altogether in a blender, apply it to your face and neck and leave it on for twenty minutes. After the skin absorbs all the necessary ingredients, wash the mask away with a lukewarm water. Due to the fact that kiwi contains seeds, while rubbing your skin you are also doing a mild peeling.

Achieving radiant complexion

Mash one kiwi with a fork, add a tablespoon of honey and a little bit of yogurt. Apply the mask on your face, leave it on for twenty minutes and wash it away with warm water.

Kiwi jam

Wash and peel 1,5 kg of this fruit, slice it into cubes, place it in a saucepan and add a packet of gelatin mixed with two tablespoons of water. Cook over low heat for an hour, then pour 1,5 kg of sugar and let it boil for a minute or two. Pour a hot jam into jars, let it cool and then cover them with cellophane.

A tip: It is very recommendable for pregnant women, because it is rich in B group vitamins and folic acid, which help the proper development of the fetus.
